How I can help
Each mandate starts with the business objective and the decision that needs to be made. The legal work is then built around it.
Legal health checks connecting the grant agreement, consortium rules, amendments, roles, deliverables, data, ethics and implementation responsibilities.
Drafting, review and negotiation for coordinators or beneficiaries, including governance, responsibilities, liability, default and decision-making.
Identification and structuring of background, ownership, joint ownership, access rights, protection, dissemination and exploitation.
Strategy, documentation, contractual conditions, evaluation governance and readiness under the applicable project or institutional framework.
Licences, technology transfer, commercialisation, R&D, university/company arrangements and agreements for funded results.
Accessions, withdrawals, amendments, disputed deliverables, non-performance, exit, claims positioning and negotiated resolution.
Typical engagements
Focused review of a beneficiary’s IP, governance and implementation position.
Consortium architecture, drafting and multi-party negotiation through agreed rounds.
A fixed review of grant implementation, procurement, governance and exploitation readiness.
How the mandate is scoped
Fixed or phased project fee reflecting role, documents, partners and negotiation needs.
When another specialist joins
Partner review and coordinator drafting are different scopes. Patent prosecution, financial grant management, technical proposal evaluation, economic valuation, litigation and guarantees of funding or exploitation outcome require the relevant specialist or remain outside the mandate.
Technology may support research, comparison and document structuring. The legal position, sources and final recommendation are reviewed by the lawyer.
Discuss a matter
A short, non-confidential brief is enough to establish fit, conflicts, scope and the right next step.
